Prenatal courses in Mělník

The prenatal course is offered by the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department of the Mělník Hospital as one of its premium services. It seeks to prepare expectant mothers for the course of pregnancy, childbirth, six months of breastfeeding and newborn care. This comprehensive preparation is intended for all expectant mothers who are interested in learning something new in this way. The courses are open to expectant mothers from the 22nd to the 33rd week of pregnancy.

The course provides expert and qualified information in four sessions. This course includes a tour of the delivery boxes and the inpatient ward of the maternity ward. Each meeting lasts an hour and a half and is led by midwife Jaroslava Kubáčová.

The four sessions consist of the following topics – What is pain, pain management, prenatal period, first period of labor, birth plan, second, third, fourth period of labor, cord blood collection, six weeks of labor, maternal issues, breastfeeding, six weeks from the point of view of the newborn – a lecture by a lactation consultant from the Mělník Maternity Hospital. More than lectures, the theoretical part reminds us of a pleasant chat, the midwife leaves room for mothers to ask questions. A prenatal course is very beneficial from a health and psychological point of view. Mothers leave the course encouraged and satisfied.

The fifth bonus session includes a tour of the maternity ward with your partner and their childbirth education. The date of these meetings is chosen by agreement of the participants. During the tour, expectant fathers will learn how they can actively help their partner in childbirth.

• The courses take place on Wednesday afternoons from 15:00 and from 17:00 in groups, always according to the interest of expectant mothers.
• It takes place in Building T – Gynecology and Obstetrics Department, in the corridor on the right.
• You can start from the 22nd to the 33rd week of pregnancy.
• You can register at least one week before the start of the new course.
• The price of one lesson is 520 CZK / the whole course is 2080 CZK – payment must be made at the Mělník Hospital cash desk.
